Beautiful tactile decorative little bowls, when used with a tea light the light of the flame gently glows through the paler colours. The dark blue & green are opaque.
After colouring white porcelain with different pigments, the shell is made by hand pressing the clay into a mould & working it to a delicate thickness. Once released from the mould the shell is pushed to a non uniform shape. After the first firing copper oxide is applied to the edge. Then the shell goes through a high temperature firing. The final step is to hand sand the exterior to achieve a smooth tactile surface.
Approximate size - 75mm dia x 40mm high.
The porcelain is a non-porous material so may hold a floating candle.
I would recommend hand washing in warm soapy water.
Each piece is unique due the handmade method. Each batch of colour might vary to a degree from the last, but will always work with the other colours.
